QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
WHAT IS HYPNOTHERAPY?
Hypnotherapy is an alternative therapy which promotes positive changes to your emotional, mental and physical state by using hypnosis (a state of mind similar to sleep) to enable you to make necessary changes to your thoughts, feelings and behaviour. Hypnotherapy is a collaborative process and a very effective way to treat a number of issues such as conquering phobias, quitting smoking, losing weight, managing destructive habits, or simply taking the time to properly relax and destress. For the therapy to work at its very best, it is essential that you really want to make the changes desired.
HOW CAN HYPNOTHERAPY HELP ME?
Hypnotherapy can help with many issues, some of which are listed above. Please contact me to discover whether hypnotherapy is right for you and your specific need.
HOW DOES HYPNOTHERAPY WORK?
During your hypnotherapy session, I will guide you through a process that induces a trance-like state where you will simply feel peaceful and relaxed (known as hypnosis). In this state you will find it easier to focus your mind to enable you to make the required changes and conquer your issues.
WHAT IS HYPNOSIS LIKE?
Hypnosis is a unique experience. Some people remain fully aware during the entire process and can recall everything that happens; others experience states of relaxation that are so deep that they feel detached from what is happening. We are often so distracted by our surroundings that it becomes difficult to properly focus on ourselves and our conscious minds become cluttered. Our session will help you to break through these day-to-day concerns and allow you to focus completely on the problem at hand. When you experience hypnosis you will feel totally relaxed and your conscious mind is quiet, allowing your unconscious mind to properly focus on the changes you want to make.
WHAT HYPNOSIS IS NOT?
Swinging watches, mesmerising gazes, gravelly voices, spells, and certainly not mind control. These are misconceptions many people have based on something they have read or seen in a movie or live show. Hypnosis is all about being relaxed and getting in touch with your unconscious mind to change and adapt certain thoughts, feelings and behaviours. You can bring yourself out of hypnosis at any time you choose, and you cannot be hypnotised if you don't want to be.
